Bowen Disease of the Nail Bed

Abstract

To the Editor.— In July 1972, Coskey et al reported four cases of Bowen disease of the bed.1Only one other instance of this condition in the bed was previously reported in the world's literature.2 The purpose of this letter is to report an example of this disease and to point out the necessity for histologic examination of any suspicious lesion in this location. Report of a Case A 45-year-old white male truck driver was first seen in the Dermatology Clinic, Veterans Administration Hospital, Allen Park, Mich, on Oct 6, 1970. Five years previously, he had noted an ingrown nail on the medial aspect of the left index finger.
