This paper provides a critical analysis of Brian Hatcher's book Bourgeois Hinduism, or The Faith of the Modern Vedantists: Rare Discourses from Early Colonial Bengal. It extensively reviews and scrutinizes the same and evaluates its importance in the Vedantic discourse. This review does not comment on the translation of historic texts, which is the second part of the book at hand
