Abstract

The bouquet osteosynthesis for fractures of the metacarpal neck was first described by the author 19 years ago and is based on the Ender principle of flexible intramedullary fixation.2 This method consists of an open technique anterograde intramedullary fixation with three pre-bent Kirschner wires (K-wires) inserted into the reduced metacarpal head in divergent directions (Figs. 1 and 2). This method has gained popularity in Europe. 34 A series of 66 patients with a metacarpal fracture treated by the bouquet osteosynthesis is presented.
