Abstract
Abstract : A coherent system with independent non-renewable components with arbitrary lifetime distributions is considered. A simple observation leads to a hierarchy of upper and lower bounds that converge to the exact system reliability. The simplest of these bounds is shown to be tighter than the bounds of Gertsbakh (1985). (Author)
