Abstract

Using the Mellin generalized integral transform, a solution is derived for two rigidly connected piezoelectric wedges under the generalized plane stress state. On the faces of the compound piezowedge, three suitable conditions from the well-known boundary conditions used in electroelasticity problems can be given. The results of numerical investigation of the degree of stress singularity as a function of electroelastic properties of the connected piezowedges and the geometry of the joint are presented. The distribution of contact stresses is also shown in the case where the vicinity of edge of the contact surface (the vicinity of vertex) of the piezowedge is in the state of low or concentrated stresses.
