Abstract

Abstract In recent years grid generation, the numerical development of curvilinear coordinate systems, has been instrumental in the development of finite difference and finite element methods for solving partial differential equations (pdes) on arbitrarily shaped domains. In addition to computational aero-dynamics, grid generation is applicable to many diverse areas including hydrodynamics, metallurgy, electromagnetism and other areas involving the solution of pdes over a physical domain.
