Abstract
The contact problem of an elastic plate on an elastic foundation under torsional surface tractions is solved numerically by the boundary element method (BEM). The BEM solution presented in this paper employs a new Green's function of the bonded dissimilar elastic space under a singular tangential loading source which has been developed by the author recently. Using the proposed technique, no multi-region modelling for the bimaterial plate foundation is necessary. The numerical formulation and results of typical examples are included.
