Abstract

The Smith predictor and its variant are applied to boundary control of a wave equation with delayed boundary measurement. The well-known instability problem due to a small time delay is solved for wave equations. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. The effect of the time delay size and the boundary feedback gain has also been demonstrated
