Abstract
The theory of phonon responses to soliton-lattice (periodic-kink) excitations in one-dimensional nonlinear Klein-Gordon systems is developed with emphasis on bound states. Results for the ϕ4 model reveal exactly four nonzero frequency modes in addition to the zero-frequency (Goldstone) mode.
