Abstract

We demonstrated two different types of bound noise-like pulses (NLPs) in ytterbium-doped mode-locked fiber lasers using the nonlinear polarization rotation technique. In the anomalous dispersion area, there were multiple spikes in the intensity autocorrelation (IAC) trace. In the normal dispersion area, the spike presented only in the center the of IAC trace. The results of the experiment show that the bound state NLPs may have partial coherence.
