Abstract

Botulinum neurotoxins (BoNTs) are potent bacterial toxins mostly produced by genetically diverse clostridial strains. Recently, BoNT variants have been reported in non-clostridial strains. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, Zhang etal. (2018) describe a novel BoNT in Entecoccus faecium.
