Abstract

Constraint-driven layout synthesis concludes the top-down process. At this point in general a detailed bottom-up verification phase is necessary to ensure the correctness of the design. Since behavioral model parameters have to be “estimated” at the higher levels of the hierarchy during the top-down process, bottom-up verification is essential to fully characterize the behavioral models together with interconnects and parasitics.
