Abstract

Green Batteries In article number 2206249, Dipan Kundu, Erlantz Lizundia, Markus Niederberger, and co-workers design a green, fully transient and high performance Zn-ion battery having an organic cathode and a renewable hydrogel electrolyte based on biopolymers potentially extracted from marine- and lignocellulosic-wastes. With its compostable cell packaging and low contribution of materials to the cradle-to-gate environmental impact, this battery represents a significant advance in the field of transient batteries.
