Abstract
The following document aimed to analyse the research and development trends related to chemical, biological and economical bio pesticides aspects from plant extracts and an approach to the Annonaceae family. A systematic review of the literature between 1947 and 2018 was performed employing advance search equation in data base specialized. It presents the development of bio pesticides of plant origin, their modes of action, the most prominent families for their bioactivity and the secondary metabolites that exert a control over pests of agricultural and public health importance. According to the search, the dynamics of publications at national and international level were identified, the countries that lead the research, the patents assigned in the last 20 years, the market trend and the bio pesticides regulation. With this process of searching and analysing data, it was possible to establish the relevance of the research on the bioprospecting of plant extracts with potential insecticidal activity and in the subsequent development of biocides using extracts of botanical origin, where the Annonaceae family is promising.
