Abstract
AbstractIn this review, the synthesis methods and their characterization of boron nitride nanosheets (BNNs) are discussed along with their advantages and limitations. The BNNs functionalization using covalently and noncovalently routes are discussed. Further, the incorporation of BNNs in thermoplastics matrix nanocomposites on thermal properties in specific is discussed in detail. The influence of functionalization of BNNs using covalent and noncovalent modification routes on dispersion and thermal properties of thermoplastic matrix nanocomposites is discussed in detail. A brief roadmap for future research in the area of BNNs filled polymer nanocomposites is also discussed.
