Abstract

The mean boron content of syngenetic graphite in metasedimentary rocks is significantly higher than that of epigenetic vein graphite or igneous graphite. The boron commonly found in chemical analyses of natural graphites does not occur in solid solution with the carbon but rather is contained in a mechanically included borosilicate phase.
