Abstract

In 1983, we published an introduction to basic clinical and theoretical issues of relevance to treatment of borderline patients. Bauer and Sherry recently “replied” to this work in this journal. The original article might have been better explicated on some points, but examination of Bauer and Sherry's reply reveals an inaccurate, overly inferential, and misleading response.
