Abstract

Developing high-efficiency non-noble metal catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is paramount for sustainable energy conversion. In this study, we proposed a Cu, Fe co-doped zeolite imidazole framework (ZIF)-derived nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes catalyst (Cu–Fe@CNTs/NC) obtained by hydrothermal method and pyrolysis. The electrochemical results showed that Cu–Fe@CNTs/NC exhibited favorable oxygen reduction performance and good stability under alkaline electrolyte. The incorporation of Cu and Fe bimetallic dopants promoted the carbon nanotubes growth on ZIF nanosheets, and the collaborative action of Cu and Fe enhanced its ORR catalytic activity. These findings provide an innovative way to prepare high active non-platinum ORR catalysts.
