Abstract

Diffusion efficiency and oxidation resistance of Pr-Tb-Cu source were simultaneously improved by introducing Al or Ni. The diffusion efficiency of source is effectively improved by deepening element infiltration and modifying interface of the magnet. The added Al or Ni forms a passivation layer on the source and increases the amorphous phase in the source, thus maintaining a high efficiency of sources after oxidation. Furthermore, the modified sources enhanced the chemical stability of magnet mainly because of the increased Volta potential of intergranular phase. This study provides a potential strategy for exploring high-efficient and durable diffusion sources for Nd-Fe-B magnets.
