Abstract

The bibliomemoir is called a story about a story and very popular in the Western literary world. But it is rarely being dealt in Korea. This paper focuses on reading bibliomemoirs written about ten representative British-American writers who have changed the author s life. Traditional modern literary criticisms were impersonal and objective, preventing readers from easily approaching canons. However, sympathetic and friendly reading of canons in bibliomemoirs serves as a good catalystic guide to the Anglo-American major works for ordinary readers. In addition, in an increasingly mechanized era, the spread of reading by emotional and integrated reading by bibliomemoirs can revive the desire to read not only in the stagnant English literature classrooms but also in the sluggish domestic literary world, thereby cultivating culture and achieving selfgrowth. Above all, the sympathetic reading of bibliomemoirs allows the restoration of warm humanity to be formed and implemented.
