Abstract

This publication reports the proceedings of a three-day symposium held in April 1982 in the USA, but with international participation, on the topics compendiously indicated in the title. A session was devoted to the short-term and long-term effects of different types of radiation. Then comes an account of methods for lessening radiation exposure, and a section on dosimetry.
