Abstract

Computed tomography in slightly more than five years has superseded the invasive radiodiagnostic techniques that gave neuroradiologists their reason to exist. This is true in all areas of intracranial diagnosis except subarachnoid haemorrhage, and none has benefited more from its introduction than the brain-injured patient.
