Abstract
The basic properties of sound and ultrasound wave propagation through a medium and the instruments required to generate, detect and produce images are generally explained in a concise but readable manner in this book. One exception to this, however, is the description of electronic beam steering and focussing which does not appear to this reviewer to be very comprehensible.
