The EconLit Abstract of the reviewed work begins “Examines how South Korea’s foreign direct investment-led globalization, particularly since the financial crisis of 1997, has been experienced, understood, managed, and often strongly resisted in various economic, social, and cultural domains. Discusses foreign direct investment in South Korea--theoretical considerations; the end of South Korean capitalism; South Korea’s liberalization and globalization; and the paradox of South Korea’s globalization. Kim is at Korea University Business School and the Institute for Global Economics. Lee is in the International Graduate School of Business at the University of South Australia. Bibliography; index.”
