Abstract
This is the proceedings of a symposium held by the International Atomic Energy Agency and World Health Organization in Vienna in September 1986. Despite the title, the scope of the book is wider than radiotherapy alone, with sections on hyperthermia and chemical modifiers of radiation response in addition to those on radiotherapy, dosimetry and the organization of services in developing countries. Particular stress is placed on the detection and treatment of cervical cancer which is the major cause of cancer death in women several areas of the world.
