Abstract
This small text is a “must” for those with an interest in evacuation proctography (defaecography). It is essentially the proceedings of an international workshop held in Switzerland in 1991. The participants were all invited on the basis of their known interest in anorectal function and included physiologists, surgeons and radiologists. It is both the multidisciplinary nature of the text and the fact that it contradicts the rather negative view of proctography held in conventional thought by the establishment in the UK, that gives the book its strength.
