Abstract

Managing Organizational Innovation explores the adoption of word processing technology in organizations from the mid-1970S to 1983. It presents intuitively compelling findings and a useful summary of research on innovation adoption and sociotechnical systems. However, it is also characterized by weak or poorly explained methodology, insufficient use of quantitative data, and an uneven writing style.
