Abstract

This review argues that Bessen and Meurer's critique of the U.S. patent system is innovative and incisive. It argues that the data-driven and empirical emphasis of the book is unique and timely, given the significant patent policy issues that this book identifies. Ultimately, however, the review suggests that some readers may not be convinced of the efficacy of the authors' proposed policy reforms, especially given the politics of patent reform in the contemporay era.
