ISBN-13: 978-0323391139, ISBN-10: 0323391133, $99.00. ![Graphic][1] Considering the fact that breast augmentation has undergone considerable changes in recent decades, articles and books reviewing the evolution of this subject have to be published on a regular basis. It is thus welcome that Clinics of Plastic Surgery once again have addressed breast augmentation surgery in one of their books. It is acknowledged that it is difficult to prioritize among important topics in this evolving field, and Dr Bengtson has done a good job selecting several topics in varied areas of breast augmentation. The book is divided into 17 chapters discussing greatly variable but interesting subjects such as bra cup standardization, saline filling as compared to volumetric weight of silicone implants, and the laminated nature of the pectoralis major muscle. Several chapters address topics that are relatively uncommon in the literature and not often presented at plastic surgery meetings. The strength of the book is the inclusion of several very important topics on modern breast augmentation, such as anaplastic large cell lymphoma (ALCL). No current textbook addressing implants would be complete without a chapter covering this disease, and Dr Mark Clemens, a world-renowned expert, does a good job in reviewing the present knowledge we have about ALCL. Knowledge about this rare disease is rapidly increasing, and it is of paramount importance that plastic surgeons are updated on these developments. Even if ALCL appears to be connected to implant texturing, the etiology of ALCL is still relatively unknown (http://www.fda.gov/MedicalDevices/ProductsandMedicalProcedures/ImplantsandProsthetics/BreastImplants/ucm239996).
