Abstract
Biographical notes: Pier A. Abetti is a Professor at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI). He worked for 32 years at GE in R&D and Project Management, and was a Manager of GE’s Strategic Planning for Europe, Middle East and Africa from 1973 to 1980. He has written three books and 150 technical and management papers in five languages. His present interests are focused on the management of technological innovation and entrepreneurship in large and small companies, globalisation, economic development and corporate social responsibility.
