Abstract

This study reviews non-indigenous, indigenous and multinational book publishing in Nigeria. The results presented are based on data collected by means of a questionnaire. The contributions of the three kinds of publishers to Nigerian book publishing are discussed. The position each publishing sector plays is described. Finally an analysis of the role of publishing in the education of Nigeria's citizens is explored, and a challenge for the future is developed
