Abstract
Book publicist Sarie Morrell explains how the Internet and changing conditions in book publishing have brought a shift in how authors and publicists market a new popular book. Centering her narrative on the recent publication of David Morrell's Creepers, the author explains how publicists and popular book authors use blogs, websites and links to electronic reading and publishing communities to market a book. The article suggests the rise of a powerful new placeless market that is modifying the way books are presented, marketed and sold in traditional book stores. Accompanying the article, author J. A. Konrath's interview of Creepers publicist Nanci Kalanta and Creepers author David Morrell add richness and detail to Sarie Morrell's analytical narrative.
