Abstract
Книга Псалмів є збірником духовної поезії, твори якої використовувалися як для загального богослужіння, так і для особистої молитви. У християнській традиції ці поетичні твори відомі під грецькою назвою “псалми” (ψαλμοί), що походить від дієслова псалло (ψάλλω) – “грати на струнних музичних інструментах”. Звична грецька назва книги “Псалми” є перекладом з давньоєврейської назви Тегіллім, тобто “хваління”.
