Abstract

Bonn and the South African question. The various political coalitions in power which followed in Bonn, and especially the Christian Liberals, developed close ties with the apartheid regime in South Africa. There are a few reasons for this, psychological, economic and ideological determining factors as well as the multiplicity of decision making units, not forgetting the rivalries between the Ministry of Foreign affairs given to the liberal Hans Dietrich Genscher and the Ministry of Cooperation dominated by the party of the ultra conservative Franz-Josef Strauss.
