Abstract

Both karyotyping and molecular analyses are impossible, if attempts at aspirating bone marrow fail and no malignant cells are available from the peripheral blood, for example in leukaemias with densely packed marrow and peripheral pancytopenia. We have therefore chosen to investigate whether DNA and RNA suitable for molecular diagnostic procedures can be obtained from bone marrow trephine biopsy specimens
