Abstract

Of 50 patients transplanted in the chronic phase of chronic granulocytic leukaemia (CGL), 38 (76%) survive without evidence of leukaemia. One of these patients had Ph′+ve marrow metaphases one year post-transplant that have now disappeared. The actuarial 3-year survival for these patients is 72%. This contrasts with results of transplanting 18 patients in later phases of CGL: only 6 survive and the actuarial 3-year survival is 24%.
