Abstract

In this article reference has been made only to the use of autogenous grafts. In both dentistry and orthopedic surgery experiments are constantly being made in an effort to find a method of using homogenous grafts whose antigenic properties have been removed or are absent. Some success has been achieved in this field with quick-frozen dried bone, anorganic bone, and fetal bone, but I have not yet had sufficient personal experience with this type of graft. If homogenous bone can be used, however, the field in which bone grafting may be employed will be greatly extended.
