Abstract
In order to prevent the debonding failure of CFRP laminate/steel plate joints, this study attempted to use a G-shaped clamp anchorage system to eliminate the peeling stress at the end of joints which causes the debonding of interfaces. Bond characteristics of CFRP/steel interface with and without end anchorage were obtained by conducting double strap tensile tests, and the effectiveness of end anchorage was verified as well. By anchoring on the weak points, the bond strength of the composite plates can be increased. However, for completely preventing debonding of the composites, a more advanced anchorage system which could against the intensive shear stress still needs further investigation.
