Abstract
The development of concrete technology, it's necessary to verify the properties of these new construction materials. One of the most essential properties is bonding between steel bars and surrounding concrete. Pull-out test was adopted to quantify the bond resistance between them. Different embedded lengths (50, 100, 200mm) with different diameters of steel bar anchored in High Strength Self Compacting Concrete (HSSCC) were considered. To improve the bond slip relationship, other samples with two different micro carbon fibers were used. It was found that HSSCC is more effective in bonding resistance than normal concrete at different diameters taken as variables herein. One of the well-known theoretical models for development length was assessed relative to test results, and showed that, conservative up to 12mm diameter, and not at larger bars diameters.
