Abstract

The present paper aims to study the debonding mechanism of carbon fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP) laminates externally applied on clay masonry bricks. To this purpose, the results of an experimental investigation conducted by the authors are discussed and compared with some experimental results reported in recent literature. Numerical analyses are also performed by considering a full three-dimensional finite element model developed by the authors on the basis of simplified assumptions suggested by the experimental evidences.
