Abstract

An account of an exhibition at the Brontë Parsonage Museum from 1 April 2003 to 31 March 2005.This exhibition examines what we know about the time that Charlotte and Emily Brontë spent in Brussels at the Pensionnat Heger in 1842 and 1843. It looks at what Charlotte and Emily may have gained from their time there and how Charlotte's experiences fed into her later works, particularly The Professor and Villette.
