Abstract

In the paper inlet pressure fluctuations in non-stationary boiling in two parallel minichannels with an inner diameter of 1 mm were considered. The open-loop system with two cases of inlet solutions (common and separate) has been analysed. We conducted an analysis of the similarity of boiling dynamics in neighbouring minichannels. A new approach to multiscale recurrence quantification analysis of pressure fluctuations was proposed. This method of analysis allowed us to detect different types of boiling dynamics during liquid flow, bubble flow, slug flow and wavy annular flow. It has been shown that the type of channels inlet solution affects the character of pressure fluctuations occurring in the system. The conducted analyses have shown that the common inlet solution of minichannels leads to simultaneous flow patterns changes. The separate inlet solution leads to two types of flow patterns changes in minichannels – simultaneous and alternate (shifted in time).
