Abstract
This study aimed to determine the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and skin fold thickness in young females. In this cross-sectional study, BMI was measured as weight (m) divided by square of height (h2) and triceps, suprailiac and abdomen skin fold thickness were measured in females using a skin fold caliper. All measurements for skin fold thickness were taken three times and an average average value was taken. The study included a total of 251 participants. The mean skin fold thickness of triceps was 22±6.02 mm, abdominal region was 24.41±5.84 mm, and suprailiac was 21.23±5.74 mm.BMI and SFT were shown to be significantly correlated in the triceps, abdominal, and suprailiac regions. The BMI and physical activity were significantly correlated.
