Abstract
Problems resulting from the disagreement between Russian and World practices in the organization of biological oxygen demand monitoring being in disagreement with the up-to-date theoretical and experimental achievements. Proposals are put forward aimed to improve the implementation of measure-ments of biological oxygen demand in water bodies and the mathematical processing of the measurement results.
