Abstract
Abstract The bleeding rate and blood yields of bobby calves were determined under normal processing conditions. The amount of blood collected immediately after slaughter correlated with live weight. Bleeding was judged to be complete after an average of 143 sec, 80% of measured blood yield issuing from the animals in the first 40 sec of bleeding.
