Abstract

At the beginning of a new year, many nonprofits take the opportunity to host board retreats that aim to bolster relationships among board members, who often don't have much interaction with each other outside of the regular board meetings. Nurturing closer relationships through team‐building is a goal in and of itself, experts say, but there are many other reasons to hold board retreats that serve even greater purposes.
