Abstract

Averroes is generally renowned for his interpretations and commentaries on Aristotle's thoughts and works, and his criticisms directed at the criticisms of Gazzali about philosophy. But his criticisms that he directed especially at Ash'arites Theologians have not been mostly taken into consideration. This article deals with the basis of his methodological criticisms that he directed at the Muslim theologians who asserted that they were sole authentic representatives of Islamic thought and the short evaluation of these criticisms.
