Abstract
While the wound healing property of the macrolide FK506 is well known, the underlying mechanism has been elusive. In this issue of Cell Chemical Biology, Peiffer etal. (2019) utilize FKBP12 ligand to demonstrate that wound healing effects of FK506 occur via activation of the BMP (bone morphogenic protein) signaling pathway.
