Abstract

A process known as charge-parity (CP) violation is thought to be one of the reasons why the universe is made of matter rather than antimatter – even though equal amounts of both should have been produced in the big bang. However, CP violation has only ever been detected in one physical process, the decay of neutral kaons, and the results could not be related to theoretical predictions.
