Abstract

ABSTRACT A computer program has been developed which can be used to simulate the emergency blowdown of a pipeline containing hydrocarbons. The program can predict pressures, temperatures and multi—phase compositions within the line and rates of efflux from the line, all as functions of time. The effect of including sub-sea isolation valves within the line can also be modelled.
